The CPU gets faster service from the cache, than from RAM.
So when the CPU needs more instructions or data, it asks the cache first.
If the cache has the information, the CPU gets what it needs quicker, and
can go merrily on its way.
The cache and the CPU work together. Cache helps the CPU get what it
needs more quickly. Therefore, cache speeds up processing. Generally, the
more cache you have in your system, the faster your system.
